Use INNZ to search for articles on your chosen subject and find which NZ libraries hold them. INNZ is an index, with abstract, to articles from selected NZ serials, including newspapers and over 300 magazines and journals about New Zealand and the South Pacific. Ranfurly Collection Enter here >> (No login needed)	Drawings, photographs, diaries, and illustrated reports created by Lord Ranfurly, Governor of New Zealand between 1897 and 1904, and his entourage. Includes photographs of a journey through the Urewera country to Ruatoki: Through Tuhoe Land.
Papers Past Enter here >> (No login needed)	Papers Past contains digitised pages from 19th and early 20th century newspapers and periodicals. The website contains over 750,000 pages from 45 publications, many of these are searchable. Includes HB newspapers: Bush Advocate, Hawke's Bay Herald (not yet searchable), Hawke's Bay Weekly Times.

To use the original material you need to visit the National Library in Wellington, New Zealand. Microfilms may be Interloaned. Includes Sir Donald McLean papers and others involved in Hawke's Bay's history, eg William Colenso, Renata Te Kawepo.

The Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand Enter here >> (No login needed)	Full-text, searchable access to one of New Zealand's most important research publications, the Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand 1868-1961. All 88 volumes are searchable online. The Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand 1868-1961 feature articles from contributors such as Walter Buller, James Hector, Ernest Rutherford and Thomas Hocken, covering topics ranging from agriculture to zoology. It's not just a valuable resource for the scientific community - there is important material on topics such as philosophy, history and literature. There is also a Picture Gallery, which gives direct access to the many line drawings, maps and photographs included in the journals.
