Audio Visual Collections
Libraries are not just books! We provide a wide range of material to suit all tastes. Children's CDs and DVDs are available from the Children's Sections.
Our audio visual material is cleaned and checked regularly but please let us know if you have problems with them. Please remove CDs and DVDs from their cases carefully to prevent damage. If you are not sure how, please ask at the desk next time you are in the library.
AV Language
Language cds and tapes found in the Non Fiction Section (400s) under their subject classification, e.g. French Language.

Audio Books - Talking Books
We have collections of talking books on tape and CD. There is also a growing MP3 selection of talking books and we are trialling PAs - Playaways. What are these?
- PA - Playaway recordings are already loaded onto a player the library supplies. The case will contain the player, a set of earphones and in some cases a lanyard for hanging the player around the neck. You are welcome to use your own earphones.
- MP3 CDs can only be played on an MP3 compatible sound system, e.g. most computers, most new DVD players and most new car and home stereo systems.
- MP3 M4B can be played on PCs, Macs, MP3 compatible CD players and most MP3 players.
"This title contains MP3 and M4b files. The M4b files are for Apple ipod/Phone users”.
There is no charge for borrowing from the Talking Book collections.
