Choose your items and bring them to the Issues Desk with your library card. 

We cannot issue without your card, although we may hold items up to three days, to give you time to come back with your card.

Receipts

• You will be given a printed receipt listing the items the due dates of the items just issued.
• We suggest you keep this in a prominent place, e.g. on the fridge, and check it regularly for due dates.
• Use it as a check list when returning your items.
• A new option is to have your issue receipts emailed when your borrow.  Talk to staff about setting this up for you.

How many items may you borrow at a time?

• In general, you may borrow as many items at a time as you need
• Please be aware that, the more you take out, the larger the charge for overdues.

Renewals

• Items may be renewed once only. 
• You may also do this online from home or within the libraries. On the Catalogue, login to My Account with your library card number and PIN number.
• You may also phone the library to check due dates and renew items

Afterhours Returns

• All items may be returned through the afterhours bins located at all three libraries.

Loan Periods & Charges

• It is free to borrow most books, magazines, and talking books, although we do have some rental collections, as below.
• A junior item taken out on an adult card is eligible for adult overdue charges.
• Adult charges apply from age 16.

• Note: from 1 July 2011 there are small increases in rental charges for the Bestseller Collection, CDs and DVDs.

Library Card Replacement

• To replace an Adult library card - $5.00 (increased since 1 July)
• To replace a Junior library card - $3.00 (increased since 1 July)

Visitors Library Card

• There is a charge of $20 payable on joining.

Payment Options

• Cash always acceptable
• Charges can be paid by EFTPOS at all our libraries
• A small amount of change can be given for photocopying or printing
