The finalists for the New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards have been announced and, as in previous years, there are some real crackers in the list.

Elizabeth and Kerry are particularly enjoying the picture book 'Baa Baa Smart Sheep' by Mark and Rowan Sommerset.
Sherryl Jordan's 'Finnigan and the Pirates' is also a corker with delightful illustrations.
If you are interested in the First World War, Leon Davidson's 'Zero Hour' is a must-read. It is about New Zealanders and Australians who fought during the three-year long campaign on the Western Front in Europe. A timely pick for Anzac Day!
