eBooks can now be downloaded free  from  ePukapuka OverDrive  to a computer, iPad, mobile phone or an eReading device. Audiobooks are talking books that can be downloaded to a computer, iPod or other compatible device with audio capability.

HB Earthquake 1931

The 81st anniversay of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake is on 3 February    We have many resources in the library - books, newspapers on microfilm, archive photos. There are displays upstairs & downstairs in Hastings Library at present.   See also the section Hawke's Bay Earthquake 1931...

There was a memorial service at the clock tower at 10.30am in Hastings.

All three libraries hold our popular E.C.READ'N Summer Reading Programmes during December & January.

These are incentive based programmes . They encourage reading through fun packed reading activities and special entertainment programmes.

Individual attention and staff support are a feature of the programmes.

They are developed by libraries in the Eastern & Central Districts to encourage enjoyment in reading.  We are grateful for support from the Eastern & Central Community Trust.
