Hastings District Libraries

Assistance with finding and using information is usually free of charge.

However if you would like a librarian to do research on your behalf, charges may be involved. Our standard research charges then apply and these are listed below.  We will consult you before we undertake any activity involving charges.

There are some charges for non members using our Ask a Librarian services.   

Notes

• We will consult you before we undertake any activity involving charges, discussing your query, time to be spent & payment methods
• In-depth research is not a core library service, therefore where research is likely to take more than two hours of staff time, customers may be referred to use a specialist research service

Payment

• Charges must be paid in advance before the search is undertaken and are non refundable if the information is not found
• Information can be faxed to members of Hastings District Libraries and charges will be added to the customer’s account
• Please notify the Reference & Technology Team Leader when payment is made, by phone, mail or email Ask a Librarian Payment
• Payment may be made by cheque made out to Hastings Library and posted to:

• Payment may also be made directly into the Hastings District Council bank account
