TEMPORARY PREMISES AT SWANSEA VILLAGE WARDEN'S HOUSE, SWANSEA ROAD
Services that will remain available from the Flaxmere tempoary premises include:
Flaxmere Library closed from Friday 11 October for major redevelopment work as part of the Flaxmere Community Centre upgrade.
The work is expected to take until early March to complete. Meanwhile library services will be run out of the Swansea Village Warden’s House in Swansea Road, Flaxmere.
District libraries manager Paula Murdoch says this temporary site means limited library services can continue to be available while the redevelopment is underway.
“While this project will inconvenience Flaxmere library users the results will be worth it in the long run.” says Paula.
”We will have library staff on hand at our temporary site to source items required from our other branches and we will have internet computers available for use.”
Services that will remain available include full access to Internet and online resources, newspapers, library item returns and holds.
Paula says Flaxmere holds will be free of charge during the redevelopment period as the physical collection will not be accessible on site.
“We will keep our users up to date on progress by posting information on our website and Facebook page.”
Flaxmere Library is behind the Community Centre, off Swansea Road.
