Hi kids! Yes, I can here the groans now you're back at school, but the good news is we can help you in your quest to get top marks in your homework.  How? Well, we have set up a homework research computer at Hastings library.   

Come to the children's section after school between 3pm and 5 pm and Jenny, Elizabeth or Kerry will be on hand to log you on for a 30 minute session.  This gives you free access to useful websites and databases to answer your queries.

Gaz Says - Homework is easier for an organised bird!

  • As soon as you get your assignment, think about finding information, use your school library and public library
  • Start early as others may be looking for the same topic
  • Bring a copy of your assignment to the library
  • If you have a choice of topics, come to the library before you choose, so you can choose a topic where there is lots of material
  • Bring your library card or...
  • Ask about joining the library - there's no charge!
  • Bring a pen or pencil and some paper
  • Bring money for the photocopier or printer
  • Ask a librarian for help - we have lots of resources
  • Encyclopaedias may also have information on your topic. They often give you a good overview
