Adult Membership Membership is free to Hastings District Council residents. We have reciprocal agreements and free membership for Napier and Central Hawke's Bay folk too. Visitors may also join, on payment of a bond. You may join at Hastings, Havelock North or Flaxmere Libraries, and your card entitles you to borrow from any of these three libraries. Membership gives remote access to our online database. Read more » Membership	Conditions of Membership On joining the Hastings District Libraries, you agree to: be responsible for all library material borrowed on your card, return library materials on time, pay charges and for lost or damaged items. You give approval for the Hastings District Council to take any appropriate steps they consider necessary for the security of any items borrowed, recovery of any such items or their replacement cost. Junior Members & Kidz Cards Children under 16 years have a Junior membership. A junior registration form requires the signature and ID of a parent or guardian, and proof of address. We also record the school attended. Children's cards are issued for their personal use. Junior items on a child's card are eligible for junior overdue charges. Some junior items have rental charges, e.g. Children's DVDs & CDs A junior item taken out on an adult card is eligible for adult extended loan charges. Read more » Kidz Scene Parents Library Stuff Membership	Visitors' Cards If you are visiting this region for a short while you may apply for a visitor's card. Bring in personal ID and proof of both your permanent and temporary addresse. There is a charge of $20 payable on joining and this will give you membership for 3 months. Only 3 items may be issued on your card at any one time. Membership
My Account - PIN Number & User Name Adding a PIN to your card enables you to log into My Acccount at the Catalogue and access many online services. It also enables you to login to ePukapuka Overdrive and borrow eBooks Ask at the circulation desk to have a PIN number added to your library card and ask about having a User Name, so that you may: Place your reserves Check your library card for items on issue, overdues, reserves and personal details. Swap your old card for a bright yellow library card - it is really easy to find in your wallet. Adult card $3.10, Junior card $2.10, new members no charge.
