New Settlers Collections

ESOL Collection - English for speakers of other languages

Our ESOL collection has more than 600 books and is downstairs in the Non Fiction area of Hastings Library.  These are for practicing your English plus helpful guides to pronunciation, grammar, and spelling. 

Community Languages

The Community Languages section at Hastings Library is downstairs in the Non Fiction wing.  There are more than 1100 books printed in a wide variety of languages.

Newcomers Guide

Settlement Support Hawke's Bay has published a very useful "Newcomers Guide".    

It is full of information about settling in to our country and our district, plus further contacts.

We have copies of this booklet for you to take home - ask at the desk for these.
