Hastings District Libraries welcomes new settlers to our district. To support you and help you settle in we have books in the ESOL & Community Languages Sections, our weekly Information Market Place and the use of Language Line. We encourage families to join our libraries and use our facilities for accessing information.
New Settlers CollectionsESOL Collection - English for speakers of other languages Our ESOL collection has more than 600 books and is downstairs in the Non Fiction area of Hastings Library. These are for practicing your English plus helpful guides to pronunciation, grammar, and spelling. Community Languages The Community Languages section at Hastings Library is downstairs in the Non Fiction wing. There are more than 1100 books printed in a wide variety of languages. |
New to New Zealand Workshop seriesUnderstanding the New Zealand Qualifications framework. Tuesday 7th September, Hastings Library 6pm. What is NCEA, NZQA and NQD?
