Read Plus! Summer Reading ProgrammeThanks to everyone who registered for our free summer reading programmes for ages 11-18 years. Both the ReadPlus (High School) and the SRPlus (Intermediate age) programmes are now full. We look forward to seeing you at report in time SRPlus and Read PlusFree summer reading programmes for ages 11-18 years, held in December and January each year. This year there are two levels:
RegistrationsParticipants in these two programmes registered at a combined registration evening at Hastings Library on Wednesday 23 November 2011. Report ins start from Monday 5 December and finish on 13 January. |
Young Adult CollectionsAll three libraries have Young Adult Collections and elsewhere in the library are CDs, DVDs, videos and of course, books that teens are welcome to borrow. Online Databases are also available for homework research.

Databases for ResearchFrom homework help, through secondary school and tertiary level, to adult general interest, to health topics, law, funding, scholarships, our databases provide access to a huge range of online resources, on just about every topic. From home you can search encyclopedias and also use our databases find thousands of journal and newspaper articles in full text. Hastings District Libraries subscribe to a wide range of databases, greatly extending our collections. Most are available to use from home - use your library card number for login ID.

In the LibraryThere is no charge to use the Career Services website in the Hastings District Libraries, including creating a CV online using CV 4 Me through the website, however we do apply our normal charges when using word processors or email.
