New Book: Moas & Megalosaurs, Huias & HorsetailsOct
20 2010 All about New Zealand's wildlife of the past by Dave Gunson Why did the amazing moa become extinct? "no other bird in the world has stood as large as the largest moa...up to 3 metres if the head was held erect". That's a very Big Bird. This interesting book book tells the story of New Zealand's wildlife of the past. There were some very odd creatures, for instance the False-toothed pelican. The Giant eagle was the largest bird of prey ever to have existed! We even had crocodiles here in NZ once, and of course there were dinosaurs a very long time ago. |
