10 2011  By now, you will be back at school, but that doesn't mean the reading fun has to stop! Kendall Daddo, an American mother, wrote part of a story on her child's lunch napkin each day. Her daughter would open her lunchbox at school and all the children would gather around and listen to the latest instalment in the story. I suppose it was a primitive form of blogging! Crazy Bike CompetitionFeb
11 2011  In celebration of Bike Wise Month, we are running an exciting competition at each of the Hastings District Libraries. Yes, you could win a brand new bike, a fabulous prize pack or a spot prize. All you have to do is create a MODEL of a bike from recycled materials and bring it along to either Hastings, Flaxmere or Havelock North Library for judging on Monday, 28 February 2011 at 4 pm. Don't worry, it doesn't have to be lifesize..... just let your imagination run wild! We look forward to seeing all your crazy bikes! |
