Friends of Hastings District Libraries is holding a big, two day book sale at the Hastings Library on Friday 13 January from 9am to 5pm & Saturday 14 January from 10am to 4pm.
“Friday the 13th will be lucky for those attend the sale,” says Shirley Wilson, president of the Friends. “Library staff have recently completed a major cull and there are plenty of newly discarded items for sale.”
“The process of withdrawing stock is vital and requires a level of expertise,” says Paula Murdoch, District Libraries Manager, ”Ideally we need to ‘weed’ annually to ensure collections are up-to-date and we have room for all the new stock that our communities love to borrow.”
“This sale will include music CDs that are being removed from the collection. This doesn’t happen very often.”
The book sale is one of the many ways the Friends of the Library support your libraries. Click here for more information on Friends of the Libraries
Bring your own carry bag and pick up some great bargains on January 13th and 14th.
Many thanks to the Friends of the Libraries for organising this.
